The first thematic workshop of this series was held by Department of Water Resources (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development – Vietnam) in Hanoi on June 11-14, 2007 in collaboration with the NARBO Secretariat.

The workshop gathered the representation of river basin organizations from 6 countries including Bangladesh, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Japan and Vietnam. In the 4 working days, participants had intensive presentation and discussions on sustainable management of water resources infrastructures. They also visited Nui Coc, Thac Huong and Bac Hung Hai hydraulic schemes to understand practical experiences of Vietnam. At the end of the workshop, a summary of frequent problems and solutions to sustainable management of water resources infrastructures was addressed. Next workshops of the series are planned to be held in coming months.
