On June 21, 2006, the final workshop of the project on Support to Capacity Building of Water Institutes was held in Hanoi ending five years of implementation since August 2001.

The project on Support to Capacity building of Water Institutes (WRSI), a component of the Water Sector  Program Support (WAterSPS) funded by Danida provided support to the 4 water institutes, i.e., Institute of Water Resources Planning, Institute for Water Resources Research, Southern Institute of Water Resources Planning, and Southern Institute of Water Resources Research.

The project successfully achieved the immediate objective of “professional services provided by sustainable water resources planning and research institutes” and the development objective of “sustainable water resources planning and management”.
